Brightmore was thrilled to be able to go on our annual “Strawberry & Blueberry Pickin” Trip to Lewis Farms this year! The fields were so green. The plants were so plentiful!
Residents always enjoy an afternoon outside . Of course, walking through the beautiful greenhouse and purchasing jams, honey and other homemade goodies to bring home enjoyable!
Another favorite part of the trip, is getting a dose of Lewis Strawberry Farms Homemade Ice Cream! It does not matter how full you are from lunch! It’s one of those indulgences you just don’t pass up. What a wonderful afternoon!
We asked the residents on the way home “How do you plan to eat your strawberries?”. We had a variety of answers .
- “Just washed and in a bowl”,
- “On top of my ice cream at night”,
- “I plan to use some in a smoothie for breakfast”,
- “I will be making strawberry shortcake!”
Whatever way they choose, there is something to be said about fresh picked strawberries right from the field!
