This year the Kentucky Derby is on May 1st .Because of this, the residents at The Commons are celebrating with a multitude of festivities! During derby week, special horses have been out and about greeting our residents. The horses are trying to gain their support for our very own Kentucky Derby on Friday.
The stylish derby contenders are dressed up and even have biographies about their life for us to read. Our residents made special hats to wear to our derby events which they filled with butterflies, gemstones, and of course, flowers! We had a Kentucky derby tea where we enjoyed mini cheesecakes, tea, and played some derby bingo. We cannot wait to sip our mint juleps and watches the races!
