“Going once, going twice, sold!” One of the all-time favorite activities at the Kempton is the Butterbean Auction. The Butterbean Auction is just like a real auction but instead of money, butterbeans are used to purchase items.

There is a wide variety of goods such as candy, puzzles, and popcorn. At the beginning of the auction the residents are given 25 butterbeans to bid with. The residents participate until all of their beans are spent.

At the end the residents give suggestions for items for the next auction. Everyone loves the Butterbean Auction!
