April 12, 2021

102 Birthday for DorothyDorothy McGinnis Turns 102 at Brightmore of Wilmington! 🥳🎉

Turning the “young age” of 102 hasn’t been easy, but it sure has been a journey! Dorothy McGinnis, resident of Brightmore for over 5 years, turned 102 today on April 12th!

When Dorothy was asked, “What advice do you have for others now that you have turned the “young” age of 102?” Dorothy’s response was, “Every Doctor I have ever gone to has asked the same question…Do you drink or smoke or have you ever? My answer is always No, Never. They say, that’s why you’re living so long so don’t start now!” Dorothy also said, “Having a pleasant disposition is really important in living a stress-free life. Feeling down is for the birds! My middle name should have always been Foolishness because I could always find some! It’s important to always get a laugh out of life!”

With a smile on her face and humorous disposition, Dorothy enjoys this momentous occasion with her family today! Happy 102nd Birthday Dorothy!
