The Kempton kicked off their “Great American Road Trip” with a fun first stop in North Carolina! 🚗✨
The day was filled with Krispy Kreme treats, a travelogue of NC highlights, and a delicious homemade Atlantic Beach Pie that brought back sweet beach memories. A perfect start to our 50‑state adventure! 💙
Atlantic Beach Pie Recipe: 🥧
Crust: 1½ cups crushed saltines, 6 Tbsp melted unsalted butter, 3 Tbsp sugar
Filling: 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk, 4 egg yolks, ½ cup lemon/lime juice
Topping: Whipped cream, sea salt
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Mix crust ingredients, press into a 9-inch pie pan, and bake 10–15 minutes. Cool.
3. Whisk filling ingredients and pour into crust.
4. Bake 15–18 minutes until set but slightly jiggly.
5. Cool, then refrigerate at least 2 hours. Top with whipped cream and sea salt.

The Kempton’s Kindness Crew is back in action! ❤️
Our Kindness Crew has been busy crafting beautiful decoupage oyster and clam shells that will be sold at our May bake sale. All proceeds will support ALS — a cause that holds deep meaning for one of our residents and their family. 🍪🦪
Raising awareness and funds for ALS research is vital, as there is currently no cure. Efforts like the bake sale organized by the Kindness Crew not only help in raising necessary funds but also bring our community together to support a meaningful cause. Through collaboration and creativity, each small step contributes to a larger impact, offering hope and support to those affected by ALS and their families.

Meet Dave at The Kempton! ❤️🐾
We had the joy of spending time with our incredible therapy dog, Dave. He’s a rescue from another county who overcame a very tough start in life.
After being adopted by Kim Badrock and her son Hutton, they quickly discovered that Dave absolutely loves people. With his gentle spirit and natural ability to comfort others, he was trained as a therapy dog — and now he visits us several times a month.
Dave brings so much happiness to our residents and staff. His story is a beautiful reminder of the incredible things rescue dogs can become and the amazing people who help them get there. 🐶✨
