The Symphony Begins!

Great courses "the Symphony"The Great Courses Educational Lectures presents “The Symphony.” Brightmore shows a Great Course Lecture series on the communication channel every Monday afternoon. Providing life-long learning opportunity for the community.

As a matter of fact, it is time to start a new series. This weeks series is called “The Symphony.”

Introducing Professor Robert Greenberg, a former instructor with the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. He leads the 24-lectures.

The course includes studies on major works. Lectures consist of all the above: orchestra, operas, and the composers.

Come learn with us! Meet some of the most famous people behind the symphonies.

Wheel of Fortune Game Show Fun!

Jackson’s Big Oak BBQ Feast.

Nothing can be better than good friends, good food and good times! Recently at The Commons at Brightmore, we had an “out to eat in” and we ordered food from Jackson’s Big Oak BBQ. We feasted on BBQ chicken, fried okra, macaroni & cheese, collards, and of course, hushpuppies!


July 4th Red, White, and Blue Social

Residents at The Commons got ready for July 4th with a Red, White, and Blue Social. Of course, they invited one of our favorite entertainers Susan Savia. Susan played our favorite patriotic tunes. Additionally, residents feasted on watermelon and danced the afternoon away. Happy Independence Day from the residents and staff at The Commons!

The residents of the Commons enjoyed a spa treatment! Everybody had their pick of hand lotions and nail colors and hand massages were also provided. We enjoyed some conversation and it was quite relaxing!


Let’s Get Fit!

Every Tuesday and Thursday is Functional Fitness class! This class has become a big hit at Brightmore! Seashell Summer Wreaths

Crafting is always a big hit at the Kempton and last week’s craft was seashell wreaths for the summer. The residents hand-picked each seashell and loved hanging the wreaths on their door and admiring others!

Yesterday some of the residents of the Commons gathered to create a beautiful frame to hold their pictures from the upcoming “Gorgeous Grandma Day” photo shoot.
