The Wet Lands Come to The Kempton!
April 11, 2016
On Friday April 8th, the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher visited The Kempton at Brightmore. Two of the Aquarium’s staff members and a few of the Aquarium’s permanent residents (the animals) came out and presented a program on the Wild Wet Lands. The program educated the residents on all the different animals that live in the wet land environment. The staff also brought some of the animals that live in the wet lands to the Kempton for the residents to view and touch if they liked. The animals they brought included an eastern box turtle, two bullfrogs, a king snake, a marbled salamander and even a baby American alligator. The residents and staff enjoyed having the aquarium come to the Kempton and we hope to have them back in the near future!
