Mark the Date: Brightmore of Wilmington Will Host a Fall Festival
for the Greater Wilmington Community

Members of the greater Wilmington community are invited to enjoy music, games, food and fun at a family-oriented Fall Festival.

Mark the Place: Brightmore of Wilmington Senior Living campus

All proceeds from baskets raffled at the festival, will benefit the Dementia Alliance of North Carolina. This organization supports education and research into Alzheimer’s and dementia. Come Join us for a day of fun. NO enrty fee.

“This is an important cause for us,” says Haley Kinne-Norris, INSPIRE Wellness and Enrichment Coordinator. She works for Liberty Senior Living, which owns and manages Brightmore of Wilmington. “We want to support our residents in Commons Memory Care at Brightmore, as well as their families and the greater Wilmington community.” All the money donated to the Dementia Alliance of North Carolina is used specifically to support initiatives within North Carolina.

You will enjoy the variety. The event will host 20 local artisans. The Arts featured: jewelry, pottery, woodworking, candles, pet treats/collars, and other items. In addition, four food trucks from local eateries. Choices to include—Eastside Food Truck, Pelican’s SnoBalls, Philly Invasion and Coast Beverage Co.. Music performed by Port City Rockers.

Other festivities will feature a host of carnival-style games, balloon artists, pumpkin decorating, face painting and other activities.


“There will be all kinds of fun stuff for kids to do,” Kinne-Norris says. Local businesses have donated items for 25 baskets that will be raffled off, with proceeds going to the Dementia Alliance. “There is a Spa Day basket and other baskets with gift cards to local restaurants or home décor shops,” says Kinne-Norris. “There will be something to appeal to everyone.”

Parking for the event will be across the street from Brightmore of Wilmington at John T. Hoggard High School, 4305 Shipyard Boulevard. A free shuttle will take attendees to the festival site on the campus of Brightmore of Wilmington, 2324 41st Street. For those who cannot attend, Kinne-Norris says donations can be mailed or dropped off on the campus.
