Fitness Routine for those with Limited mobility!
Limited mobility does not need to stop you from a regular fitness routine. The residents at The Commons exercise weekly. It helps keep residents physically and mentally sharp.
In addition, exercise improves balance, prevent falls, and can reduce joint and muscle discomfort. Having an exercise routine is proven to ease stress, reduce anxiety, as well as, lighten your mood. The best reward of course, is an overall sense of wellbeing.
At The Commons, Monday starts with a visit from Janet. She guides the residents through a 30 minute seated exercise program. The program includes hand weights, exercise bands, balls and stretching. Thursday’s program focuses on flexibility and cardiovascular exercise. It is especially fun by using music to get our residents dancing. Everyone has fun working out and getting fit!
