Acts of Service
This month’s resident spotlight not only focuses on one resident at Brightmore, but three incredibly selfless individuals. These ladies not only give back to their community during the holiday season, but all year round!
Ginny Bredeck has been volunteering at the hospital for 20 years at the Main Entrance Information Reception Desk. When asked why she volunteers and what she gets out it, she remarked, “Because I can. I get tremendous joy in being able to give back for all my blessings of incredible good health and family.”
“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” – Gandhi
Rosemarie Martin has been volunteering for 10 years discharging patients in the Tower. She said, “I really like doing it! I have met so many great people, and now I live at Brightmore with some of them. It gives me a good feeling doing what we do.”
Clara Hodges is the newest volunteer and just finished her training this month and will officially start on January 2nd. Clara will be an Ambassador at the Front Desk. When asked why she decided to volunteer she responded, “To meet and greet other people and assist them in finding their destination in the hospital. It’s my way to serve the community in a different capacity than my own personal interests.”
