What’s in Your Junk Drawer?

Many experts agree that brain games are effective for seniors, particularly those who are at high risk for or are already living with dementia. If our seniors do not use their memory and processing abilities, they can deteriorate quickly.

Here at The Commons, our residents engage daily in fun games for cognitive stimulation. Today we played “Junk Drawer Detective”. It is almost like “Where’s Waldo?” but with a picture of items from your junk drawer. We then read a fun poem and searched for the items, stopping along the way to reminisce about the past. Our residents had a blast trying to be the quickest!
