“This is a day that no one will forget…”

December 13, 2018

Place yourself on Waikiki 77 years ago…and that is where the residents of Brightmore were last Friday night as we remembered the attack on Pearl Harbor. We attended the Pearl Harbor Remembrance USO Dance at the USO Building in Downtown Wilmington. The evening started with the ceremony of flags as the Hoggard ROTC Honor Guard assisted Post 10 as they presented the flags. Captain Wilbur Jones, Mayor Bill Saffo and Councilman Jonathon Barfield addressed the ceremony. The guests then went to the dance hall for an evening of swing dancing and music from that decade! We even had a few residents take swing dancing lessons! It was a very memorable and fun evening.
