You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have!

The residents of Brightmore had their first art class for the new year with artist and instructor, Maureen McKenna. Maureen instructed the group through a step-by-step acrylic winter scene painting titled “Hot Cocoa by the Window.”

Proud Painters!

This step-by-step instruction not only allows the class to work at the same pace, but creates an atmosphere where each participant uses their own creativity to paint the scene as they see it…no painting is ever the same. Maureen also educates the class while she instructs by explaining why they are using a variety of different brushes, ways to combine different colors to create different effects and demonstrating the many techniques of painting.

The class requires no experience, so it is nice to see first-timers mixed in with lifelong artists working together. Maureen’s favorite saying in class comes from famous painter, Bob Ross, “There are no mistakes, only happy accidents.”
