How many steps do you take a day? Residents at the Commons are on a mission to increase their steps by walking whenever they can. Our Healthy Steps Walking Club is making steps to improve our fitness one step at a time. Regular walking prevents and reduces pain from arthritis, burns calories, and improves cardiovascular health. A study by the American Cancer Society says that people who walk as little as two hours a week reduce the risk of disease, and it helps you live a longer, healthier life. Our residents are walking through the building on rainy days, walking in our courtyards, and walking around our beautiful campus to get their daily steps in.
