A favorite hobby of many of our residents here at The Commons is gardening. As we age there is no reason to discard that pastime, and during the cold winter months we pick projects that we can work on indoors. Gardening is therapeutic and it encourages hand flexibility, coordination and just overall well-being. For this month’s garden club, we decided to propagate one of our favorite houseplants, a Christmas Cactus. Our Resident’s spent the afternoon taking cuttings and potting their own plant to take care of and watch grow. With a little bit of love and an occasional drink of water our plants will be growing in no time!
