Brightmore of Wilmington Independent Living successfully celebrated their 2nd Annual “Salute to the Troops Concert & Dance” on Thursday, June 30th! Over 300 guests came to celebrate an early “4th of July” and also recognize all the Veterans who faithfully served our country. The program started with American Legion’s Post 10 presenting the colors, the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by everyone singing the National Anthem. The Concert & Dance featured The Wilmington Big Band performing Patriotic & World War II Big Band Favorites. The residents, their guests and the community were invited to enjoy complimentary Hors d’oeuvres, Desserts & Beverages while dancing the night away to favorite tunes that brought back great memories! Brightmore also held a raffle where all the money raised will go to support our local Parkinson’s Support Group, who assists those suffering as a result of Agent Orange exposure. It was a beautiful evening under the stars as we honor our Independence Day!
