Haley Turbeville is Brightmore’s Recreation Therapy Spring Intern from
East Carolina University. Haley has been with Brightmore for 8 weeks .She is completing her 14 week 560 hour Internship under Madeline Woodard, LRT/CTRS, ACE-CPT.
Haley has made special relationships through teaching classes. Offerings include fitness and aquatic classes, shadows during assessments (and does her own), and creates monthly health seminars. In addition, finding and conducting the craft classes, bingo, outings. Haley helps organize all the special events, spirit weeks, and scavenger hunts created for the residents.
Haley enjoys working with the Independent Living population. Her hope is to stay in the geriatric field when she graduates from ECU after her internship. You will love her personality and a laugh that is contagious. Her effort to “do” without being told, is showing how quickly she is fitting in, and thinking like a Recreation Therapist. Haley enjoys working out on her own time, specifically weight lifting. She also loves her dog, doing things outside, and being creative with fitness and Aquatic classes and crafts. Haley will be moving back to Greenville after her completed internship at Brightmore, where she will go on to take her Certified Therapeutic Recreation Certification Exam, and apply for her State Recreation Therapy License after passing her CTRS exam.
