The Kempton Celebrates the First Day of Spring

The first day of spring was Monday March 20, 2017. The Kempton celebrated the first day of spring with an afternoon Spring Equinox Social. The residents enjoyed fresh fruit that included pineapple, oranges, blackberries and blueberries. They also had refreshing punch made of orange sherbet, cranberry juice and ginger ale. An old folklore says you can balance an egg on its end during the spring (vernal) or the fall (autumnal) equinox. The residents at the Kempton took a raw egg and tried to make it stand on its large end. We had two residents that were successful in making the egg stand. It was great fun and many laughs were had.  Happy Spring everyone!!!
