Retirement Community Residents say “Love Where You Live & Shop Local!”

This month our Brightmore Ladies Group decided they wanted to go and support several of our local businesses that they had not had the opportunity to go visit since they opened. The ladies began their afternoon with a light lunch, pastries, ice cream sandwiches, smoothies and coffee at “Bitty & Beaus”. Bitty & Beaus Coffee has been featured world-wide because of the wonderful business idea of Wilmington local & owner, Amy Wright.  She created a working culture where “diversity is not just appreciated, it’s celebrated.” She employs individuals with physical & emotional disabilities so they have a safe and fun environment to work and make a living. Amy Wright was just awarded the 2017 winner of CNN’s Hero of the Year!   After lunch, the ladies went to check out the new Urban Market Downtown, “Farming on Front”. Farming on Front brings the freshest local fruits, produce, meats, flowers, homemade jams & jellies and candy to the downtown area. Of course the ladies of this retirement community had fun shopping and no one left empty handed!
