“Lifelong Learning through The Great Courses”

Brightmore started its first 6-week educational series where residents learn from a Clinical Professor of Neurology without even leaving Brightmore. The Great Courses is a series of college-level audio and video courses produced and distributed by The Teaching Company (TTC), a Chantilly, Virginia company, via mobile, tablet, and connected TV apps, CD, DVD, and streaming media. After a survey, Brightmore started with the most popular topic of interest, “Optimizing Brain Fitness,” with Professor Richard Restak. In this first session, the residents learned How Your Brain Works and How Your Brain Changes. Even though the information can be very deep at times, it is a fascinating lecture and we can’t wait to get together again next week for Session 2 to learn Care and Feeding of the Brain and Creativity and the Playful Brain.
