Know Your Prescriptions with Brightmore University

Brightmore University presented a very informative session to residents and guests from our community on “Your Prescription Drugs”: Info on Expirations, Generics & On-line Shopping  presented by Dr. Michael Barron, Dr. of Business Development/Global Stability Study Quality Chemical Laboratories.  Dr. Michael Barron is not only well-known for his studies on prescription drugs, but also the son of one of the residents here at Brightmore of Wilmington, Margaret Barron.  Brightmore was very excited that Dr. Barron had time to join us for this session. He provided a very extensive presentation that covered expiration dates, how they are established and their meaning, as well as a discussion on how generic drugs and innovator brands are equivalents, but not the same, and the pros and cons of on-line shopping for drugs. It was also very interactive, so participants were very comfortable participating and asking some very inquisitive questions at the end.
