Healthy Hearts at Brightmore of Wilmington
Brightmore’s Health & Wellness “Live More” was excited to invite UNC-Greensboro Senior, Dominica Norris, to speak at retirement community on the benefits of maintaining “Healthy Hearts!” Dominica Norris, Intern with the American Heart Association, gave a thorough presentation on keeping our lifestyles healthy to prevent heart disease, heart attacks and strokes. Breaking the ice with several “Knock-Knock” jokes, she immediately won the attention of the crowd and educated us with new information just for seniors and refreshed our knowledge on signs to look for if a heart attack or stroke should occur. Brightmore is already a “Go RED” community each year and supports the American Heart Association through fundraising, so Dominica was excited to hear that. We will also be recruiting residents and family members to be a part of our “Brightmore Go RED” Team as we participate in the 2017 Cape Fear Heart Walk in October.
