Giving Back: Feeding Kids Through COVID-19

I know during the pandemic, we have all asked ourselves at one time or another, “What can I do to help others during this time?” Brightmore has a long history of giving back to our community in many different ways; so, after a news report last week and further research, we decided to support Nourish NC.

Nourish NC is a non-profit agency that provides hungry children in New Hanover County with healthy food, empowering them to succeed in the classroom and in their community. One in five children in New Hanover County struggle with hunger. Nourish NC provides many services, but they are focusing now during the pandemic on being able to continue to feed school-aged children not only through the end of the summer but when school starts back because many will not be in school to get breakfast or lunch. They do this by donating bags of food to the families in the program so they have healthy meals at home to prepare.

Brightmore has decided to do a Donation Drive to help support this very worthy cause from July 29th-August 5th.
