Exploring Family Roots with The Commons

In part two of our “Exploring Our Family Roots” program, the residents at The Commons began their in-depth research.  We used online resources to facilitate our search.   One of our residents found an article in a local paper from 1878 about their grandfather!  We located birth, military, marriage, and death records to help us on our mission.   Our research got all the way to the 4th generation for some of our residents.  We were all amazed by the information that was available and just how easy it is to find!  Our next session will be mapping out and perfecting our family tree.
