Exercise with a Purpose
Having limited mobility does not need to stop you from regular fitness routine. The residents at The Commons exercise weekly. Exercise helps keep our residents physically and mentally sharp; it helps with balance, helps prevent falls and can reduce joint and muscle discomfort. Exercise has also been proven to ease stress, reduce anxiety, lighten your mood and produce an overall sense of well-being.
Our week starts out on Monday with a visit from Janet who guides our residents through a 30 minute, seated exercise program that includes hand weights, exercise bands, and stretching. On Thursdays, our program focuses on flexibility and cardiovascular exercise by using music to get our residents dancing. Our residents love to have fun while getting fit!
