Come to Senior Beach Day with Brightmore!

Kevin Murphy from Ocean Cure came to Brightmore to speak with the residents about the Ocean Cure and encouraged them to come to the Senior Beach Day on Thursday, August 9th. Ocean Cure is made up of local teachers and staff, making up a group of around 20. Originally the group started out as a surf group, then ventured out into becoming a non-profit organization. Their goal is to reach as many people as they can and to get them on the beach. Ocean Cure works with all types of disabilities: PTSD, Vision Impaired, Paralysis, older adults, and many more.

Ocean cure loves being able to do this for everyone that they can reach. They have grown from 20 Surfers and 100 Volunteers, too 100 Surfers and 450 Volunteers! You can also check them out online, where they have pictures and videos up from their previous events. Our residents love being able to be a part of Senior Beach Day every year, and having all the help from the Ocean Cure team makes it possible! There is nothing better than a day at the beach with your toes in the sand, and sun shining on your face!
