Children’s Play and Easter Egg Hunt!
SS Quest is a home schooled children’s group that routinely comes to the Kempton to visit with the residents and put on plays for all to enjoy. They are a group of 6 families who have been together for 8 years schooling their children. This week they came with their show “Blast from the Past” which highlighted the period of the 1900’s through the 1960’s. They covered everything from the Wright Brothers, the Titanic,
A tribute to the military and the Jazz Age which was complete with flapper costumes. You could hear a pin drop when one of the children gave a solo performance of “Somewhere over the Rainbow” from the Wizard of Oz. Zelma Peters said “For those of us who don’t get to see children very often, this is a special treat.” Right after the performance the residents held an Easter egg hunt for the kids. We filled the eggs with candy and hid them through out the first floor. “The Easter egg hunt was so much fun and a great idea”, exclaimed Rose Artin. We can’t wait for the next visit from these amazing, talented children with such wonderful parents!
