In 1926, the US Congress authorized the continuation of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, from Beaufort to the mouth of the Cape Fear River in North Carolina. Completed in 1932, after the planning and vision of William Arthur Snow, this presentation included pictures of its construction, 3,000 miles of island waterways and some of the history and the resulting development of Wilmington, Carolina, and Wrightsville Beaches from the 1920’s to the 1960’s.
