The resident’s at Brightmore started a new educational DVD Course provided by The Great Courses on “The World’s Greatest Paintings.” It will take us 12 sessions to complete the whole topic that is professionally lectured by Professor William Kloss. Professor Kloss is an independent art historian and lecturer for the Smithsonian Institution’s seminar and travel program. He has delivered hundreds of courses and lectures around the world on European and American Art. In this 12-week study, the residents will be led in a compelling discovery of some of the most significant paintings in Western art. Taking you from the 14th century to the 20th, revealing a group of works that, in Professor Kloss’ judgment, rank among the greatest paintings ever made. The residents look forward to learning about various artist throughout the sessions including Duccio & Giotto, Bellini, Michelangelo, Caravaggio, Rembrandt and Monet, just to name a few.
