On Wednesday, May 11th, from 2-4 pm, the Brightmore Campus held our 1st ever “Duck Adoption” Party. The party was held at the pond with fun games, food, entertainment and most importantly rubber ducks. The Brightmore Campus partnered with Coastal Horizons to help raise money for their 24 hour, 9 bed shelter for abused or at risk youth, ages 6-18. Some residents will also be volunteering for their annual “Duck Derby!”. Our residents had the opportunity to adopt a duck and the money raised will go directly to Coastal Horizons. When our residents adopted a duck their name was entered into a duck database and a “racing” number is assigned to them. The first 3 ducks to make it to the finish line, the day of the duck derby race event on May 20th 2016, at Jungle Rapids, will have a chance at winning some large prizes including the top prize of $1,000!!! This week the Brightmore Campus raised over $1,000 to donate to the Coastal Horizons. All proceeds will go directly towards Coastal Horizons to help house and shelter at risk youth in our community.
