Celebrating the American Heart Month in February, as well as Valentine’s Day; there was a lot of love to go around.
Scavenger hunt for the Wear Red Day was February 5th 2022. Residents participated in a “Live Fierce” Animal hunt around the building to collect all the clues, and try to be the first 3 back to take the heart prize!
On Valentine’s Day, Morrison created Valentine cheesecake plates with chocolate covered strawberries, and we passed out wine or a Valentine’s Day punch. Some residents sat inside, while others went out to the fire pit area to enjoy the sunshine that afternoon! Staff also passed out single stem roses to each resident with a conversation heart box.
A Night Yoga class also was put on that week, with a 7:00pm yoga with Annette; and residents each left with a sleepy time tea to enjoy back in their apartments before bed. Lastly, we had a special guest for the Wine and Cheese Social on Friday. The Heart Man from The American Heart Association Cape Fear Chapter came out to support our fundraiser that we had going on all month long from the residents. The three winners of the heart day scavenger hunt presented the check at the social to the heart man. We raised $125.00 from raffle baskets through the month of February to give to the American Heart Association. Great work!
