The Brightmore Campus held its 11th Annual “BBQ & Bluegrass” Fall Festival Fundraiser for Alzheimer’s on November 10th. The sun was shining, the weather was a little cool, and it definitely felt like the perfect day for a Fall Festival! Residents of Brightmore, The Kempton, The Commons, staff, family, friends and community members joined for an afternoon of bluegrass favorites performed by “Wings on the Mountain”, Brightmore’s house bluegrass band with headline band, Massive Grass! Everyone enjoyed singing along with both bands and there was even a little dancing going on outside the tent! And of course you must have the perfect menu for a festival…BBQ, Hotdogs, Chicken and Beer! There was face painting, games and pumpkin painting for the kids to enjoy. Besides the music of course, the highlight of our festival is for a chance to win one or more of 75+ Raffle Items so some of our guests even went home with a raffle item! This yearly event is one of our annual fundraisers so the proceeds will be donated to Dementia Alliance of NC, formerly Alzheimer’s NC, and support local families caring for those with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
