We try to incorporate exercise in many different ways here at the Commons. On Monday’s we exercise with Janet, and she guides our residents through a seated fitness routine. She does a combination of seated aerobic and resistance exercises, and we use light hand weights and resistance tubes. These exercises help decrease the amount of arthritis and back pain. Resistance exercises strengthen bones to help prevent age-related muscle loss, which helps to reduces falls and restore balance, and it lowers the risk of heart disease. Our residents always feel energized, revived and ready for the week ahead after the program!
