The Kempton is lucky to have our very own certified fitness instructor, Paula Scott. She comes to the Kempton three times a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings to teach our sit and stretch class. Each class has a variety of exercises that are done seated in a chair. Some classes include hand weights and/or other exercise equipment like foam balls. The classes are unique and push the residents as much as they would like. Studies have shown that being physically active provides benefits as you age, some of which are: improving your health and helping you maintain independence.
Ms. Faye Hamilton, a resident here at the Kempton, attends sit and stretch almost every class, she says, “Sit and stretch is good for my health and keeps me going. It also gives me time with other residents here.”
