The Commons at Brightmore - Personal Care
The founders of The Commons appreciate that not everyone seeking some degree of personal care requires intense medical management or has cognitive impairment. In fact, many require little more than a supportive environment and the reassuring feeling that comes from knowing someone is always there. Residents and their families appreciate the security and comfort of being part of a socially stimulating and fulfilling extended family. This is an environment where residents can make new friends, go out to dinner, participate with activities and outings, or host visitors and family members in a warm residential setting. Personalized care plans are the approach we take when caring for our residents at The Commons. In order to serve a resident's best interests, our first priority is to develop a truly personalized assessment and care plan since needs vary by individual. Paraklay Way
Control and autonomy is critical to self-esteem and feelings of empowerment. Architectural design is critical for individuals with memory loss. Small and confusing hallways can lead to agitation and anxiety. In Paraklay Way, residents know how to move about from place to place because our open floor design gives them a sense of control and predictability. We are excited to promote the "Best Friends Approach to Alzheimer's Care" by Virginia Bell and David Troxil. This model and philosophy is practiced at Paraklay Way, creating a nurturing environment with the comfort of individuality and autonomy, reassurance and the ability to continue to enjoy life. Family and friends are encouraged to be part of the "Partners in Caring" team. With supervision by professional, licensed nurses, and carefully maintained medication management and administration, residents will experience the most positive life possible. Each aspect of the program is designed to maximize the resident's sense of well-being, value and abilities.
